Another scaffold gone.

The painting in the staircase and upper hallway are finally finished enough to allow us to take down the scaffold which blocked them. The painting crew will pick up speed as they get their feet back on the ground. One giant scaffold remains for just a little longer to allow us to install the first of the decorative pieces and the electrical fixtures in the upper reaches of the sitting area. Framed

To keep things simpler on the windows and allow more options in the future we will be using Lexan in the windows of the NEB’s Fun World entrance. This meant it would be better to route the window frames from 30 lb Precision Board. These were mounted to the structural frames and we will sculpt up to them. A bracket plate to match the sign bracket is welded to the frame as well. This piece is now ready for the pencil rod armature and then the galvanized lath. We’ve started the top section that will be mounted above this one to finish this section of the wall. The top will reach about thirty-five feet in the air. Stay tuned…

Gadgetorium sign mockup

Jeff loves to tinker and invent many awesome things. He’s a computer whiz who can do magical things with technology. As a nod to his fantastic abilities, we are creating a sign to attach to the NEB’s building facade. His new office will be behind these walls on the upper level. Before welding up the inner structure for the sign I test-fit the pieces which lined up perfectly. I’ll glue the pieces together on Monday and then I can get to the very fancy custom bracket which I am eagerly looking forward to fabricating. Stay tuned…
