To keep things simpler on the windows and allow more options in the future we will be using Lexan in the windows of the NEB’s Fun World entrance. This meant it would be better to route the window frames from 30 lb Precision Board. These were mounted to the structural frames and we will sculpt up to them. A bracket plate to match the sign bracket is welded to the frame as well. This piece is now ready for the pencil rod armature and then the galvanized lath. We’ve started the top section that will be mounted above this one to finish this section of the wall. The top will reach about thirty-five feet in the air. Stay tuned…
Gadgetorium sign mockup
Jeff loves to tinker and invent many awesome things. He’s a computer whiz who can do magical things with technology. As a nod to his fantastic abilities, we are creating a sign to attach to the NEB’s building facade. His new office will be behind these walls on the upper level. Before welding up the inner structure for the sign I test-fit the pieces which lined up perfectly. I’ll glue the pieces together on Monday and then I can get to the very fancy custom bracket which I am eagerly looking forward to fabricating. Stay tuned…
Second sign routed
With the first sign for NEB’s Fun World entry now fully assembled, sculpted and ready to pass on to the painters, it was time for me to get busy on the next sign. I designed the file yesterday and this morning set the MultiCam CNC router in motion. The file was routed flawlessly and by quitting time the two sides and middle section were ready to be assembled. While the magical machine was doing its work I was busy designing the next sign to go onto the router next week. Stay tuned…
