Crafting one 'page' of a long story

We are storytellers extraordinaire. Our greatest story-telling feat to date will be the Hazelnut Inn. If you explore the Hazelnut Inn’s web page and drill down to the North Star suite you will find its description as follows…

‘Local lore holds that the North Star was once the home of Temperance Longbottom. An eccentric explorer, Ms. Longbottom found herself the caretaker of artifacts and curiosities from mythical lands of fairytale and folklore.

Spend the night in the captain's quarters of an ancient sailing vessel. Relax in a soaker tub for two. Explore the lush private garden, filled with whimsical artifacts. Staying in the North Star is simply a delight.’

Each element and piece of the suite is lovingly designed and crafted with exquisite care to tell this story. The hot tub mentioned in the description is one ‘small’ example. The soaker tub - just big enough for two, is nestled in the middle of a giant stone sculpture. Even more detail is sculpted into the stones. Look close and you will see an octopus carved into the hot tub enclosure. Today Kendra skillfully applied the third to last coat of glaze. Stay tuned for much, much more…

Shop full of structures

While the painting crew is working their magic in the Hazelnut Inn we’ve also been keeping very busy in the shop. We are well underway on the NEB’s entry wall, welding up the first five of the many structural frames. The panels are all less than ten feet tall and no longer than twenty feet to facilitate easy movement around our shop and eventual transport and assembly with the equipment the client has available. The pieces are designed to fit together perfectly and yet still allow a little room for adjustment as they are assembled. Stay tuned for much more progress…

Wild colour!

As the painting crew skillfully works their way down from the upper reaches of the North Star suite, the walls and features gradually become closer to their final hues. This view is towards the sitting area looking at the front door. Each separate area is both grandiose and comfortably cozy at the same time. The areas of this suite are all separated vertically to create a suite like none other. Specialty custom lighting will be focussed on key areas of the room and when combined with many layers of richly trimmed tapestries it is going to be nothing short of spectacular when everything is complete.
