They say the hardest part of sculpting a figure is getting the eyes right. When sculpting gnomes that isn’t a problem. :). The second gnome was sculpted today and it all went well. The pair will be allowed to cure until next week before we begin splashing on the colour. Stay tuned…
Gnome one
We’ve seen garden gnomes of many shapes and sizes through the years. We’ve even designed and sculpted a few ourselves. We were ready when we got the call to do a few more for a client recently. The first we sculpted today measures a little more than four and a half feet tall. She’s heavier than most and sports a removable lifting lug in her hat to allow us to safely lift her into her special garden that is already growing. Soon the gnome will sport a bright colourful coat of paint. Stay tuned…
Giant pumpkin owl progress
Each feature in progress in the shop gets one coat of paint or glaze each day to allow time to dry thoroughly. Although much is being done overall daily, progress appears to be gradual on the individual pieces. The giant pumpkin owl is nearing completion and looking fabulous! By week’s end most of these pieces will be ready to pull from the shop. Stay tuned…
