Grant mixed up copious amounts of sculpting epoxy, allowing Peter to concentrate on sculpting the giant pumpkin on the Stocker Farms sign. While they did that work Kendra and I carved the woodgrain into the ends of the signs. Our hope is that very soon we should be ready to begin the paint. Stay tuned…
Pumpkin armature nearing completion.
The giant pumpkin photo op took a giant leap forward as Matt & Keith welded up the pencil rod armature, filling in the large round shape. By day’s end tomorrow this piece will be ready for the lath and then sculpted fibreglass reinforced concrete.
Owl armature ready for mesh
The driveway in front of the shop is once again quickly filling up with features and projects in progress. This is the armature of a giant pumpkin owl. Look closely and you can see the flat, round-shaped gourds that will be the eyes. More pointy gourds from the beak and ears. Up top the curved stem is outlined. In the next few days, we’ll attach the lath and maybe even start in on the sculpted concrete. Stay tuned…
