This week, the weather has been absolutely fabulous, with almost summer temperatures and spring in full bloom around us. The giant shop doors have been swung wide open each morning for the crew to enjoy the fresh air. The work that was ready for paint was moved out into the driveway so the painting crew could take full advantage of the perfect temperatures. They are concentrating on the last of the projects bound for NEB’s Fun World which are due to be shipped late next month. We are on schedule and things are looking great!
A castle of monstrous proportions!
The structural steel framework for the bottom third of the massive mushroom castle, soon to be bound for Castle Fun Park in Abbotsford, dominates one entire side of the shop. Keith has been faithfully welding together the many components. He tells me that his coping skills are impressive these days as he has had plenty of practice on all of the compound angles. It won’t be long until we begin the pencil rod armature, followed by the diamond lath and the sculpted concrete. Stay tuned…
Castle topper
The crew did some detailed sculpting on the top portion of the tallest NEB’s castle tower this afternoon. The work is simply amazing and will be hard to believe it is concrete rather than ‘wood, stone and plaster’ when all of the paint and glazes are being applied. Stay tuned for that colourful process next week…
