Three owls in two

Krysia and Kendra were tasked with painting the bulk of the old man tree under Becke’s watchful eye. They managed to polish it off this week and I look forward to seeing it out in the daylight on Monday. Perched in the branches are two cute little owls or rather that is what appears from either side of the tree. But if you are paying very, very close attention you may notice one of the owls is actually double-sided - two owls in one. Kendra painted these little beauties and they turned out awesome! Becke asked me about the colours just before I left for California last week. I told her to surprise me and to just make sure they were as magical as the tree. I was not disappointed in the least. Our painting crew is second to none!

Kendra's back!

They say you can never go back, but sometimes it is possible. Kendra worked with us for two years before she went on to other exciting adventures on her own. She’s been doing other artistic things for about six years. With our current flood of work in the shop we were looking for a few good people. Keith and Krysia were the first to join our team and they are doing fabulous, but we decided we needed one more person. At that exact moment Kendra came back into our lives and we hired her in an instant. Talented and skilled, and with a great sense of humour, we are looking forward to working with her once more!

Watching from not very afar

On the day after I got back from my awesome trip to the Farmer’s convention in Sacramento I had a slight sniffle. The first time I coughed it was hastily decided that it was time for a COVID test… just to play it safe. It was positive. That meant immediate quarantine to the guest room. I’m now on my third day in the guest room. I felt rough the first two days but things are thankfully improving quickly. I’ll reman isolated until all the symptoms are gone and I test negative. Stuff sometimes happens, sooner or later, despite our precautions but life will go on. The first couple of days when I felt really poor it was an easy thing to take long naps and pass the remaining time on the internet. But that gets old in a hurry. I felt good enough today to do some design work with only a short nap in the afternoon so things are definitely improving. For the safety of my beloved family and our great crew I will stay hunkered down in the guest room for the remainder of the week or as long as necessary. While I lay low, the crew stays busy in the shop and they are doing a fabulous job! The mushrooms under and around the dragon got sculpted today and turned out fabulous! Tomorrow, it will be the dragon’s turn. I can hardly wait as I watch from not very afar!
