Its a setup

I arrived on the trade show floor of the Sign International Sign Association EXPO as setup was in full swing. The show is large, massive by most trade show standards, and there were packing boxes, tools, busy people and hustling forklifts at every turn as everyone scrambled to set up their booths. The competitors arrived, already bone tired from travelling much of the day but everyone worked together to quickly uncrate and set up each piece for the contest. Six display pieces are now set up and ready to go with two more contestants due to arrive early tomorrow and set up their pieces before the show begins at 9:30 in the morning. The level of detail in each piece is nothing short of amazing. Everyone did indeed bring their A-game to this event. We are at booth 2135. Come and study these amazing entries and cast your vote for your favourite!

Shiny new brass - for now

The last of the roofs and caps for the North Star suite received their base coat of metallic brass paint today. After they cure these will be scuffed up and then a mild acid reactant will be sprayed on to instantly age them to match everything else on the Hazelnut Inn. There are now only a few more pieces to complete before we call in the cranes for the big lift. On that day things will change in a large way.

By now everyone else ‘s entry along with mine are in the show warehouse and ready to be unpacked and unveiled for everyone to see. It’s going to be a high energy event, a gathering of friends, new and old. It’s going to be fun!
