Neon trees

As our projects go through the various stages of painting and glazing they look pretty bright on occasion. The trees destined for the Catoro Cafe certainly fall into this category today. But there is no fear for we know as subsequent glazes are skillfully applied these bright colours will be toned down and made to look fabulous. By tomorrow evening they will be done. I’ll be taking more photographs of the process and post them here. Stay tuned…

Everyone is watching...

The Hazelnut Inn continues to capture the attention of everyone around us. Each time we add new pieces to the building we hear many comments about how fast things are progressing and how interested everyone is in the progress. Today, as the crew moved the Copper Crown’s giant roof flashing onto the property in preparation for the next crane lift day they caught the attention of Peter’s two kids who were out playing in our yard. The kids of course desperately wanted to hop the fence to ‘help’ but were instead encouraged to stay on the safe side.

It's a wrap

It’s hard to believe the Sign Invitational to be held at the International Sign Association EXPO in Las Vegas is now only a week and a half away. I thoroughly enjoyed working on my two entries and look forward to unveiling them soon. They were sent off a while back and we’ve received notice they are in the warehouse in Las Vegas awaiting the show.

I also look forward to seeing all of the other entries. I’ve heard some of the other contestants are still busy putting the last of the details to their pieces and burning the midnight oil to finish on time. I recently saw some sneak peeks of a few of the others and they were looking pretty spectacular. It’s anybody’s game at this point. The entries will be judged by many hundreds of people who attend the show and drop by to vote on their favourite. We’ll be at the Signs of the Times booth number 2135. I look forward to seeing many long time friends at the show!
