Night rider

It’s not often we work overtime in the shop but occasionally it is necessary. Today, we were sending off the last of the Loco Landing features to Penticton but the truck was a couple hours late. Peter and I loaded the pieces and tied things down securely as the light faded. Even with the approaching darkness we checked everything twice and then a third time to make sure it all stayed in place during the 200 mile journey. The yard is a bit emptier which makes room for the next batch to come out of the shop.

Winter happy place

Our little tractor is my winter happy place. And having enough snow to have to plow the driveway is the best compensation I know for being cold. (I dislike the cold a LOT!) The good news is that our driveway stretches for more than 400 feet so when it snows I get plenty of tractor time. The weatherman tells me that tomorrow morning I’ll get another crack at it. :)

Cold snap

We are in the middle of our first (and only hopefully) cold snap of this winter. The worksite is quiet as it is far too cold to apply metal lath with the steady north wind we’ve had of late. Instead we are hunkered down in the nice warm shop prefabricating lots of pieces which we’ll fasten in place when the weather thaws. The good news is spring, warmer temps and longer daylight hours are less than a month away. We are waiting…
