The Hazelnut Inn is coming along nicely, both onsite and components in the shop. The tower is now all base painted and the glazes are in progress. It’s looking very grand! We’ve started nailing to roofing materials into the tower roof as well. We’ll soon begin welding up the tower roof cap. It’s a spiffy looking tower!
Almost buttoned up
The outside of the Hazelnut Inn is almost all buttoned up and the Tyvek wrap mostly in place. The galvanized plaster mesh is next. On the concrete walls we are beginning the welding of the pencil rod frames to shape the walls in those areas. The building is quickly getting to be its final shape. Pretty soon the ‘ordinary work will be done and we can move on to the fancy stuff. We are doing our best to finish the high parts of the building so we can finish with the man lift and send it on its way. lift. It’s going to be fun!
Working under cover
The boys were working under cover today (sort of) as they installed the teamwork under the eaves of the North Star tower of the Hazelnut Inn. It was definitely tricky work. It took three guys (all weathered in of course) to do the task. Two held the piece in place while the third quickly fastened it into place. The tricky part was fitting into the lift basket. It is amazing how much better the tower looks with the detailed pieces in place! Tomorrow, the weather is forecast to improve some which will make the last pieces a little easier to install. I can hardly wait to see it all done! Stay tuned…
