I reached a milestone on the Sign Invitational piece today as I sculpted the last of the bricks on the top of the tall structure. From here on in it is all about fun details. After sculpting thousands of the same sized bricks I’m ready for some real fun! :)
Go for the green!
With each passing day the Hazelnut Inn comes a little closer to the final form which we envisioned from the beginning. The carpenters have now finished sheeting the roof on the North Star suite. That clears the way for our crew to move safely below. We are busy stapling on the weather barrier and lath on the walls in preparation for the fancy carved plaster work. The waterproofing is complete on the roof of the Underhill and the tree is extended down to the roofline. That clears the way for the roof landscaping next week. The crane, soil and sod are booked for Tuesday morning and the roof is about to get green!
New lid
When we were showing at the IAAPA EXPO in Orlando a few weeks ago our good friend Marc dropped by our booth. Later he came by with his family. We discovered his two boys were into drawing which I encouraged as best I could. Marc took notice of the hat I was wearing which was embroidered with a well known mouse. He made a passing comment to his boys that they needed to fix that. Today, a parcel arrived at our door all the way from Florida. Inside was a shiny new hat featuring the logo of the company Marc works for. THANKS! I’ll wear it with pride. :)
