The carpenters are busy cutting and nailing the roof joists in place on the North Star suite of the Hazelnut Inn. Peter is doing his best to stay ahead of them, fabricating the decorative beam ends. To hold them securely in place he welded up some sturdy steel brackets. He bolted them in place and decided to give them a test. They held just fine!
Base colours on
While we were in Orlando at the IAAPA EXPO the crew was busy applying the base coats of paint on the Clayburn Pet Hospital sign. In the next couple of days we’ll be starting to do the secondary colours and glazes on the animals, branches and bricks. The sign board is all painted and glazed and ready for the gold leaf on the lettering. This is going to be a real head turner and ready for delivery by the beginning of next week. Stay tuned…
Concept magic
As part of our display at the International Association of Parks and Attractions EXPO I sat at a small desk to one side and worked on some preliminary interior design concepts for the Hazelnut Inn. It was a way of showcasing our design capabilities. Between talking to many who dropped I managed to do four drawings. These drawings further explored possible ideas for the North Star and the Underhill suites. We are getting much closer to the final ideas we will actually construct. With the three suites soon to be at lockup stage it won’t be long until these ideas (or better ones) become very real.
