Another roof assembly

The shop space is currently dominated with the construction of the structural steel for the roof of the largest tower and sub-tower of the Copper Crown (castle) suite. We will prefabricate the large structure in our shop in two pieces. These two halves will be pulled from the shop singly when we are done and then reassembled onsite before being lifted into place. By the end of the week we should be fastening on the roof sheeting. Stay tuned…

Instant tree

We are eagerly looking forward to the next lifting day at the Hazelnut Inn! On that day much of the roofline of the Inn will be clearly defined. One of the three big items to be craned into place on that day will be the Underhill Suite’s skylight. As per usual (for us) it is not your typical skylight. Today the crew finished the sculpting of the giant tree which will soon live on the roof of the centre suite. It’s a real beauty!

What could possibly go wrong?

When I went into the house for lunch today Juniper was giving Henry a driving lesson on his little car. It was his first time driving. Being a fearless daredevil at heart she was urging him to go faster and drive with one hand in the air. What could possibly go wrong? We were encouraging Juniper to go slow and Henry to hang on tight - with both hands. Our new motto is… first you get good - then you go fast.
