Tiki in colour

The crew spent the bulk of the day cleaning out the corners and storage areas of the shop before tucking away the last of the Sculpting Magic Workshop supplies and equipment. Then it was time to start on new projects and finish off some o the samples we had worked on during our demonstrations. One of the samples was the tiki for the North Star Suite, Once finished it will appear to be weathered wood. The base coats are much more colourful and vivid.

Axed

During the Sculpting Magic Workshop Peter and I did three sample pieces. The theme of the workshop was story telling and we were illustrating the ‘authentic’ fictionalized history of the North Star Suite of the Hazelnut Inn. The ‘owner’ of the suite was a gatherer and collector of ancient artifacts from around the globe. We were designing and fabricating a few of her priceless treasures. One of these pieces was an archaic elephant axe. I had a lot of fun designing and creating the piece, complete with a giant, priceless ruby (dollar store plastic jewel) which will be mounted in the forehead mount. Becke is doing the awesome painting and glazing to bring it to life.

2018 workshop final day

The 2018 Sculpture Magic Workshop is now finished. We had a wonderful group and our crew performed incredible wonders as we shared all we knew with our guests. Projects of every description were created in three very full days. The talented people who attended also shared their unique skills with everyone resulting in an amazing time of learning. The long days flew by in a flash and everyone left energized and and eager to continue their shared experience. I look forward to keeping in touch and seeing where everyone goes from this point. Once again I need to thank each of our hard working crew who made it all possible!
