There’s well over 1000 leaves on the tree of the Hazelnut Inn sign now with only a few more to be welded in place on the very top. I’ve also begun sculpting the tree trunk which is going a little faster than I imagined. The other side of the sign needs to be sculpted as well. It won’t be ling until the sign is ready for paint. It’s going to be a head turner.
Docked...
I found some time this weekend to have a little fun working on my Sign Invitational entry. I finished the brickwork on the bottom section of the building, built the loading dock and polished off the porch roof over the steam boiler as well as the detail on the back of the delivery van.Next up are the loading dock details. Stay tuned…
Stopping traffic
We’ve noticed a changing traffic pattern in our little town since we began the construction of the Hazelnut Inn. Locals are walking by a little more, intent on seeing the latest changes. Those who drive by in their cars slow down and often stop for a quick photo. When I am in town and someone notices the logo on our truck doors, instead of asking if we own ‘the house’ in Yarrow, they now ask what we are building next door. With each installation of a large piece the curiosity and anticipation grows. We suspect that the interest will grow dramatically when the rest of the ship and a few other pieces are installed in a couple of weeks. They haven’t seen anything yet!
