We've made plenty of castle tower roofs through the years. In the old days we did the math by hand, drew out the lines on a master template, cut, traced and then cut out the many pieces with a jigsaw. These days we build the files on our computer, send them to the cnc router and then let the computerized machine do the work for perfect results every time. It's a whole lot faster too. Assembly is a lot easier with everything lining up perfectly. The first of the Hazelnut Inn castle turret tower roofs is well under way and looking great!.
Boarding the ship's cabin
It was very exciting to apply and sculpt the first concrete on the ship's cabin at long last. It sure changed things in a hurry! Next week we'll apply the magic mud to the filagree below the windows and then sculpt the woodgrain through it. The windows are scheduled to arrive in the first week of September and they too will be installed and the sculpting of the frames around them will be completed... just in time to lift the giant ship into place. We can hardly wait!
The first castle tower
As fast as we pull the finished pieces from the shop new fabrications quickly take their place. The first of the Hazelnut Inn's castle towers is quickly taking shape. The gentle curves and tapers look pretty cool already. This piece won't be in the shop very long and new pieces are already being planned to take it's place. In about two weeks the assembly of the prefabricated pieces will begin. We can hardly wait!
