When Phoebe was small, a dozen years ago we talked about building her a treehouse. One was started in the giant walnut tree but it came down when the driveway was rerouted a few years later. It was decided we would build a faux tree instead but before the treehouse could be built we had to build the new house, then add Becke and Grant's home and do the landscaping of the yard. Now, at last everything is in place. Instead of just Phoebe there's three grand kids to consider. It was decided that the new treehouse design needed to include a sandbox, a slide and a swing. It's going to be a beauty!
Ready for installation
The memorial bench is now finished and ready for installation on Tuesday morning. The message is simple... 'I will love you to the moon'.
First sculpted concrete on tree
The Underhill tree got it's first sculpted concrete today. This has been a filler project, with work being done on it when we have spare crew. The new crew learned to attach the galvanized mesh on the relatively simple form. We still need to weld up the upper branches and the window is a couple of weeks out but we have definite progress. The tree should be ready to lift into place about the same time as the concrete roof is ready to receive it.
