The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attraction EXPO in Orlando, Florida is still seven months distant but we are already beginning to seriously think about our display there. We've been assigned to BOOTH 856. The next time things slow down a little we'll peel the cover off our trade show display and begin serious preparations for the show. The display will get a fresh coat of paint and we'll add in a new set of exciting pieces to make everything look brand new. Our travel arrangements have already been finalized. We look forward to seeing many old friends and meeting many new people as well!
Which came first? It's solved!
The age old question of which came first - the chicken or the egg has finally been solved. I offer photographic proof of course. :)
As I sculpted the chicken on the Arends sign today I first created a round egg shaped ball. It would form the basis of the chicken body. I then added the head shape and lastly began sculpting the hundreds of feathers. Tomorrow we begin the painting process.
Head start!
Peter had a blast all day as he and the crew troweled on a thick coat of fibreglass reinforced concrete, let it set the perfect amount and then carved it to look like the ancient relic it is to be. They will let it cure for a bit and then start in on the paint that will make it totally believable. They now have a good head start. :)
