Windmill sculpted

With a cold snap coming next week we pushed to get the sculpting done today. It's no fun mixing concrete out in the cold! The sculpting on the windmill is now complete! It is going to be a very exciting mini golf hole, with a great new twist on an old classic theme. Next week we will start in on the paint and make it look like the concept drawing. This is going to be a fun one to paint!

Modular castle

Back when we first started in the story telling business we built a castle. It was made of plywood and plaster. We've built a few more castles through the years, each one bigger and a little fancier than the last. Wood framing and plywood skin gave way to structural steel. The first iterations were always built on site and work was done high on scaffolding. It wasn't the most efficient way of doing things especially when the weather wasn't nice. These days we've gotten much better and are now able to do the bulk of the work inside our comfortable shop. The castle is built in large sections with sturdy lift and attachment points designed in from the start. The temps were below freezing outside today while be laboured in shirt sleeves. The concrete will cure properly and soon it will be ready for paint.
