The shop is 'quiet' for the holidays, save for me having a little fun. I fired up the CNC plasma cutter, the CNC router, table saw and a variety of tools. I made plenty of noise, lots of sparks and smoke and plenty of dust too. The base for the table is now together and the shoes of the robot are sculpted. Tomorrow I'll go back and have a little more fun. Stay tuned...
Coastal Enterprises custom table
Space in a trade show booth is both precious and spare. But in that small space a vendor needs to display their wares and attract attention in a very busy and colourful venue. Once again we will be designing and building a small display piece for our friends at Coastal Enterprises for the International Sign Association show to be held in Orlando in March of 2018. Coastal Enterprises manufacture Precision Board high density urethane, glues and primers which we use exclusively in our shop. I opted to build a small table this year on which they can display samples to hand out during the show. The table will measure 2' x 2' x 4' tall. Their logo will adorn the base and a cute but very stout robot will hold up the table top.
Quiet, white Christmas
This morning we woke to a skiff of fresh snow with a few snowflakes still falling. It's rare on Christmas day in these parts. This year, Christmas morning is unusually quiet as we prepare for a few for turkey feast this afternoon and a much, much larger crowd tomorrow as family gathers from near and far. Christmas at our house is about family and being thankful for our abundant blessings. We are truly blessed! Merry Christmas to everyone!
