I throughly enjoy working alongside family members. Peter and Becke have been by my side since they were tiny. Forty years later we still work together on a daily basis. Phoebe too is in the shop from time to time as her busy schedule allows. This past week Phoebe has been working on a school project in the shop. She's making great progress and her piece is looking great. The tough part is keeping her from borrowing all of my sculpting epoxy! I'm working on my Sign Challenge piece at the same time. It's good to spend time together!

Almost Christmas

This evening Janis & I did our Christmas shopping for all of the kids in our lives. By the time we were through the store the shopping basket was overflowing. We had great fun picking out the kid's gifts. As we packed everything into the car I was reminded of a recent concept I had done of Santa's sleigh - jet powered of course to make it around the world in time to deliver all of the presents to the kids. Christmas is coming fast and we are almost ready!

Regroup

Just after we push a major project out the giant magical doors of our shop we like to take a deep breath before we plunge into the next. We like to take the time to sweep out the dusty corners, tidy up stray tools and materials and take stock. It is also a time to discuss how we'll do things different the next time, learning from just transpired. As things are tidied we fire up the router and plasma cutter with new pieces. Materials are ordered and cut to size in preparation for the new builds. It won't be long until the shop is busting at the seams once more with new exciting pieces.
