The usual mad scramble to open a large project is now underway in Trinidad. There is still a seemingly endless list of things to finish but the park is quickly taking it's final shape. In the next few weeks the last concrete will be poured, landscaping will be done and all of those details will be attended to. Yesterday during the lunch break I did a quick walk around and grabbed some video omg my iPhone. It's a rough video with the quick edit done during a layover in Houston on my way home but it gives a good overview of the park layout. This is going to be a great little park!
More long lost friends!
I've had a blast this past week working with the Trinidad crew. We are unpacking signs and features which we've not seen for two years while we waited or the onsite work in Trinidad to be built. Now at last the signs are being assembled and put into their permanent locations around the adventure park. It's all looking more fun by the minute!
Going vertical!
Today was the day for which we've been waiting a very long time. We emptied the last two (of eighteen) shipping containers this afternoon. The last container held the masts for the ships (among other features). There were four masts in total. Each was carefully unfastened from it's custom welded steel pallet and lifted into place with the zoom boom. I was amazed at how much the park changed with the vertical additions! Tomorrow we will have sculpted from the previously flat landscape, all but one of the adventure golf holes. It has been a very challenging journey thus far but the project is living up to my long held vision in every respect! In the next three weeks the last of the concrete will be poured and the last of the fill trucked in, allowing us to close the temporary road into the site as we work our way out of the completed area. The landscaping begins very soon as well and this will change the site in the biggest way yet! I can hardly wait!
