I'm currently showing a group of software users how to create complex 3D reliefs in our CNC routing program. I wanted to present a real challenge, so I went back to a sign I had created quite a number of years ago. The little fish boat on the Shymer's Harbor sign looks deceptively simple but actually uses many different rather complex functions of the software. The thing is I had to remember how to do it myself first. As I practiced creating the file I remembered the struggle I had back then because then I was just learning the software myself. But now, after over a decade of practice I found it was easy. But tomorrow as I teach I will have to have a lot of patience for most of those I am teaching are trying this stuff for the first time. It's going to be fun!
Down to the sparkle in his eye
Peter and I were on our way to Salt Lake City while the crew stayed busy in the shop. Becke polished off the Cloud Buster sign and it is looking very fine! Check out the video on Facebook or instagram for the finishing touch. Well done Becke!
Travelling tree
Late this afternoon, the truck arrived to pick up Dayna's tree. We carefully picked it up with the forklift and tucked it inside the trailer. The loading went perfectly smooth and now it is on the way to northern Saskachewan. We look forward to seeing pictures of the tree in it's special place.
