Time for a trailer

The little rail truck only has room for one adult and one child. This could be a serious problem on the days that the family gathers for there will be multiple grand children, various grand nephews and nieces plus some adults who will all want a ride. It was time to give a riding trailer some serious thought. We already had a rail car but it was rather boxy and plain which just wouldn't do. It was time to head back to the drawing board to scratch out a new idea... something a teeny bit fancier.

We also need an air supply as I suspect the whistle is going to be sounded regularly. So I began to scribble down my ideas and came up with this fine looking riding trailer. I decided to have the wheel set swivel separate from the vehicle frame. This will ensure a smooth ride without any wheels binding on the tight corners. Fabrication is already under way.  Stay tuned...

Visual leap!

Our IAPPA EXPO trade show booth took a giant visual leap towards completion today as we installed the signage components. The lettering is just gold paint at this stage but the application of the 23K gold will start tomorrow which will really make the lettering jump. I'll be working up concept drawings on my iPad at the small table on the left with the TV screen showing the result behind me. Next up will be some shelving with some concept models. The models will add a whole lot more colour in a hurry. We are starting to get really excited about the show and look forward to meeting many old friends and new. See you in booth number 980 soon!

Ready for the next step

Work continues at a brisk pace on our trade show booth for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions EXPO in Orlando, Florida in November. Today, the crew glazed and aged down the shiny paint of the booth. The dimensional lettering for the back walls is now ready to be installed. 23K gold leaf will follow and that will add some serious attention grabbing sparkle to the display. After the lettering and TV are in place we will begin attaching the shelving to hold the dimensional samples and last will be some flat artwork.
