Last glaze

The shop is still plugged full of a bunch of arches for NEB's Fun World bowling centre. But the base coats of paint are all in place as is the first glaze. The last glaze now covers about half of the pieces. The good news is that a shipping date has been set for late next week. That means we have time to finish everything off perfectly and then carefully move it out the door. That will make a whole bunch of room for a new batch of projects very soon! We can hardly wait!

Another project complete.

Today we finished our work up at Cultus Lake Adventure Park. While their crew put the finishing touches to the new Boardwalk we did the last of the painting on our features below. Considering the boardwalk stretches more than two hundred feet around the golf they did only a teeny bit of damage to put in the many footings through the golf. In a few places repairs were necessary to blend the boardwalk into the existing golf. We added a few rocks, replaced some 'dirt' banks and added a few features. On hole nine we built some dynamite cases around the giant pylons and a plunger to set off the explosion - part of the legend of Giggle Ridge.  This Friday the park will be open for the first time this season. I suspect Phoebe and I will be there to have some fun - er make that do some research.  :)

Samples

The walls in our shop are twelve feet tall. The space above the eight foot mark is reserved for samples and scores of them line the walls. These samples serve many purposes. First they provide a fun way for us to practice and try out new techniques and materials. The samples are great decor. The many samples are also showpieces for prospective customers. Our samples are important to us and are a significant investment we've made through the years. There are more than 150 of the dimensional samples in all on display.
