The beams and arched panels are now nearing completion as they get their last coats of paint and glaze. Until they re done it will be impossible to bring any new projects into the shop as there is simply no room.
Nine to go
While most of the crew are busy in the shop painting all of the current batch of pieces Peter and Shane are busy back in the welding shop. They are welding the frames for the last nine posts. The posts turned out to be a little more complicated than we imagined. The tricky part is to build the posts in such a way that they are seamless when they are assembled. They have to fit around existing columns in the bowling alley. Peter did the engineering and did an amazing job!
Wall to wall paint
The shop is full to bursting with many large pieces for NEB's Fun World. Each is in various stages of of being painted. The crew goes from piece to piece layering on the coats of paint and glaze. things are getting more colourful by the hour. It was impossible to grab a photo that showed just how many pieces there were so I shot a little video instead of the painting crew hard at work.
