It's been a while since we've made a sign outside of the theme park world. Our local MultiCam dearer is opening a new office and needed a sign for their reception lobby. I had designed this concept about two years ago and believed the project dead. But, good ideas never go away and it was instead time to make the real thing. Once the file was built the bulk of the cutting was done on MultiCam CNC router. Once I had the pieces in hand I glued them up and applied a surface texture by hand. The sign measures about six feet wide. Painting begins on Monday.
Better photos of Playland features (with sunshine)
I was at Playland today delivering a few more decorative fence panels. The sun was shining which allowed me to take some better pictures of the features we created for the rides. Next week the park opens to guests for the season and they will get the first peek at the new rides.
Shire-Mail
Dan has had the shop to himself for the last week as Hailey and I have been exploring New Zealand. Today we stopped by the Lord of the Rings movie set. It is always great to recharge in a creative space and Hobbiton is really well done. Details abound throughout this tiny town - including this garden mailbox.
Next we are heading to Weta's studios and I am looking forward to seeing what they have going on.
