Sneak peek at some upcoming fun

Next week we will be privileged to officially announcing a new client and an extremely exciting project. For now though it is still very tightly under wraps. The concept drawings are all done and approved. We decided to do one study model for the project which I have well under way. While I can't reveal the details of the project yet I'll give you a glimpse of the bottom section of the model. The height of this section of the model is nine and a half inches inches which translates to nine and a half feet tall in the real thing. This is going to be a whole lot of fun!

Two more off the to-do list

The below normal local temperatures for the last four weeks have made concrete work difficult. With another week of sub zero temps in the forecast we resorted to plan B. We hauled our sand indoors to thaw out yesterday and then mixed the concrete the old fashioned way today - with a paddle mixer in five gallon pails. Our crew managed to sculpt two more arches for NEBs bowling alley. That leaves only 18 more arches to sculpt plus the side wall pieces.

More details

I (with a little help from my crew) am still working on the train display in bits and pieces between other larger projects. The engine cab beginnings are in place and the first coat of sculpting epoxy now covers the billboard and base of the sculpture. It is time to install the smoke machine piping through the engine before I get into more details. I am looking forward to working on the trestle soon! Stay tuned...
