Homeward bound.

My work in Dubai is now done and after a week of warm temperatures and a whole lot of dust I'm anxious to head home. This morning my inbox was full of pictures of little Juniper enjoying her first snowfall and Peter on my tractor plowing my driveway. I've been waiting patiently for two years for the chance to use my new tractor for that task and when it finally snowed I'm off where it is really warm. I'm a little tempted to be jealous but then again I'll bet I have the much better tan.  :)

Ready to be in the mood for Christmas

Last week when I was in Trinidad it didn't seem much like Christmas with palm trees and warm temperatures. Just the same, they were beginning the festivities and decorations and lights were abundant. This week in Dubai the sight of traditional Christmas as I know it is much rarer but still very much alive in the large malls. As I walked through a large mall tonight the bustling crowds certainly were very busy shopping. I've heard many of the workers on our project site talking of going home for the holidays. Peter's picture of snow at home has put me in the mood for the season. Late tomorrow night I'll be starting my long journey home - just in time for the holidays.

Snow Day

Despite the fact that we live in "The Great White North" we don't actually get that much snow in our neck of the woods. That being said, it has been cold lately - and the other day I opened up the back of the shop and discovered that it had snowed the night before... inside the shop.

But we wouldn't be able to hold our heads up as Canadians if we let little indoor snow slow us down. :)
