Each work day the lineup of finished pieces for Dubai grows. The workshop is now empty and the driveway getting is getting very full. We are arranging the pieces there to allow room for a big crane plus room to back in a container on a semi truck. One half of the Viking ship's hull is completely painted along with the masts and front and rear keels. The painting process is started on the second half of the ship. Sadly, there will not be enough time for them to be assembled to see how it all looks together. That won't happen until everything gets to the park in Dubai. The first ship will be sent off in less than two weeks and will fill six forty foot containers. That will be an exciting day!
Zombie Apocalypse Station.
Back during the last major reorganization of our shop I asked the crew to build a rack and hang all of the garden tools on the outside back wall of the shop. They dutifully complied but decided the new tool cache needed a sign. It quickly became obvious that our crew lacks nothing in the imagination department. The tools are now handy and ready for just about any situation imaginable... During the next Zombie Apocalypse we all know where to muster and I think Becke will lead the charge..
Second half of ship sculpted
The crew pulled out the stops today and sculpted the bulk of the second half of the first Viking ship. A whole lot of concrete mud was troweled on and carved before quitting time. There was lots of details to work on with two door ways and two portholes for the water cannons. The doorway with the beam surround will be for a net climb between the two ships. The front will be for the gangway to allow the guests to board the ship. Tomorrow, more pieces come back from the galvanizers and we will begin the final assembly of the second ship structures. It's full steam ahead to finish the two ships as fast as we can. The shipping date is quickly approaching.
