We started at the top of the target rocks for the Viking project at Motiongate in Dubai. The biggest target is a giant carved stone Viking head (as in the movies). The massive welded and wired frame suddenly got even larger as the see-through mesh suddenly became solid rock.
New team member
We brought a new member with some great experience onto our team. Felix Feng is a Senior Theme Facade Specialist, with two years of experience working on the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in the new Shanghai Disneyland park due to open in two weeks. He is an expert at carving woodgrains in concrete. As we teach Felix our techniques in carving he is also sharing with us his experience. We put that knowledge and experience to good use today as we continued the sculpting of the target feature of the Viking project which is going to Motiongate Parks in Dubai. Welcome to the Imagination Corporation team Felix!
Back into the mud
Today, we began the concrete sculpting on the Viking target structures which will be installed in the Motiongate theme park in Dubai. We started with the 'wooden' components. It's been quite a while since we did concrete work and it was good to get into the mud once more!
