We have such an incredible team. It is so fun to watch them take a basic idea and then plus it to be much, much more than I imagined. With each step these features got better and better. Today as the final patinas and highlights were brushed onto the weapons they came alive in an awesome way. They are truly weapons worth fighting for!
Much more magic
The barrels and boxes for the Motiongate project in Dubai were looking pretty good last week as the second and third glazes were applied. Over the long weekend I spent a little time cleaning, prepping and applying the primers to the galvanized metal parts so that Jenessa and Angie could continue their work today. And that they did with great style. The painting of the metal parts and the last layer of dark glaze really added weight to the bottom of the boxes and barrels. One more day with the brushes should polish things off beautifully! It is hard to believe this is all carved concrete! Well done!!!
Time for us to practice
It's only two and a half weeks away from our first Sculpting Magic Workshop. We've felt the excitement of everyone who's coming. We are excited too! We've been busy preparing samples and getting everything ready. We'll be switching things up a little in these workshops and that meant we needed to create some new demonstration pieces as well. Our primary goal is to pass on as much knowledge and experience as possible and send each of the participants home with things they can use in their work. It's going to be a lot of fun!
