Peter's Sign Challenge piece is now ready for final assembly. He finished the final paint and removal of some of that paint in key areas to create a patina of age and use.
The lone arranger
With the sculpting done and the base painting finished on the upper portions of the trade show booth it was time to begin the glazing and then the arranging the shelves and larger pieces. We wanted the booth to feel like our studio - chock full of examples of our work. We took some of the samples off the walls, fabricated new hangers and brackets and then one by one mounted them in place. We still have a fair ways to go on the project but it is starting to feel a lot like home. Peter was out of the shop for most of the day which made me the lone arranger.
Now on to the details.
The last of the concrete sculpting was finished today as we did the floor boards in the trade show booth. Now we begin the detailing and final painting and glazes throughout the booth. This will include mounting the display pieces. This is the phase that is most exciting and which will go the quickest. The concrete will be allowed to cure over the weekend and before we break for Christmas this thing should be pretty much ready!
