In our shop we embrace modern technology and computerized magic as well as doing things the old fashioned way. Whether we do things by hand or with the help of a machine the secret ingredient is the same - IMAGINATION. For some components of our projects I design the files at my desk and then send them to our MultiCam CNC router. This amazing machine carves blocks of Precision Board high density urethane into the shapes I had previously only imagined. There's still plenty of hand work to be done before the projects are finished but the magical machine does save us plenty of time. Right now we are carving the name plaques for the attendees of the coming workshop. Four were done today while we did other tasks.

Our job is to make the bodies which will bolt on when all of the pieces arrive in the Caribbean. We began the fabrication of the car bodies a few weeks ago and this past week the last one got it's final welds. The cars will resemble mine cars with a simple sail overhead for a little relief from the sun or perhaps a rain shower. Each of the five cars will carry four passengers. All we have left is the engine...
Fifty-two days and counting!
The time really seems to fly by quickly these days! With summer already half way through our thoughts are turning towards the fall and our Sculpture Magic Workshop. We have eager students signed up from British Columbia, Alberta, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Texas, Colorado, and two from Australia. There are nineteen guests signed up with a waiting list of six more should someone cancel. You can bet we are excited and very determined to put on the very best workshop possible with a few new surprises along the way. We have lots of exciting new things to share! The workshop is now only 52 days away!
