Missed but not twice

It is generally a normal thing for our designs to take a few days for the client to get used to as we like to be out there. It isn't often one of our designs misses the mark on the first try but once in a blue moon a client will reject our first effort and ask for something even more daring. We don't need to be asked twice. Recently we worked up a design that was for a campground beside the adventure golf we did two years ago. The sign was attached to an old steam donkey, similar to what we had built for the golf. Our client politely declined the concept and so we happily went back to the drawing board for another go. The second design passed with flying colors.

Revisiting MultiCam

It's been almost ten years since we purchased our first CNC router from MultiCam in Texas. In that time we've done a lot of creative work with the machine. This week as we visited the plant we noted the walls of their offices were full of display pieces we've sent down through the years. While we've spent a bunch of money with them they have also bought many pieces from us to help show what their machines are capable of. It's been a mutually beneficial relationship without a doubt. Here's one of the many pieces we did through the years, still hanging proudly on their walls.

Peter and I got back home early this evening and I quickly shuffled through the mail. I was delighted to see a three page feature in SignCraft magazine of the trade show display we had recently made for MultiCam.

Visit to the candy factory

We love to be creative. We also love tools that allow us to go as far as possible in this regard. Today we got to visit the ultimate candy factory - where they make MultiCam CNC machines in Texas. Everything is indeed bigger in this state and this place is MASSIVE, with machines of every description in various stages of finish. Kelsey and his team generously showed us around. We even got to try some delicious Texas barbecue. Our purpose for the visit was to learn all about plasma cutters as we will soon be adding one to our arsenal. We look forward to seeing what kind of creative things we can make with this cool new tool giving us a hand. Stay tuned...
