As each ride is completed in our projects the call goes out for brave people to be the first to ride. Our crew always volunteers. Today was the day for the Round-up to take it's first spins with people on board. It is a pretty exciting ride which takes riders sixty feet off the ground - upside down of course. Once was enough for me but some of the crew rode multiple times!
Layer after layer
The painting of the signs takes a long time because of the detail. Each base color gets a minimum of three coats of paint plus there are two or three glazes on top. With each coat of paint there is also the necessary drying time as well. As the crew progresses through the layers of paint the sign slowly comes together and looks better all the time. With four good sized dimensional signs on the go, plus all of the other projects the shop is one busy place.
Hangman's tree
The last large piece to be built for Trinidad is huge! Because it is to be shipped in a container to Trinidad we had to break it into three sections. Today the bottom two pieces received their coat of sculpted concrete. Golfers will shoot their balls into his mouth and the treasure buried deep inside.
