Last day in port

The painting crew spent the day wrapping up the colors and details on the ship. It went from great to over the top. The fine details they had carefully carved into the concrete came alive as the paints and glazes were applied and finished perfectly.

As with every piece small details added a little humor. The cannon pointed to the bow had a cork stuffed into the barrel. A rope will be tied between the eyelets to provide the punch line.

Every inch of the ship makes me smile. Usually I do not go for skulls and other dark images but we are having a lot of fun with this whole thing.

Beside the ship the poop deck is coming along nicely. It will be in the shop for an extra day.

Tomorrow we'll hook up the tractor and summon the entire crew to guide the ship out of the giant magic doors for the last time.

New dreams

The Cultus Lake Adventure Park was a very exciting project without a doubt. The park was was enjoyed by thousands of people through the summer months. It went so well that the owners are now in planning for a second phase which is very exciting! That of course means we too are back at the drawing board beginning the concepts for some very cool new adventures. The plans are still too preliminary for a big reveal but I can show one drawing as a teaser...

This is going to be very exciting and very fun! Stay tuned...

One more master plan

The masterplan has been locked down since the beginning of September or so we thought. But in Trinidad things are a little more laid back and casual. A jogging path was built around the property and asfter it was built they did a survey, only to discover that they had built it in the the gerneral location it was supposed to be, up to fifteen feet off course in places, both into and outside of the supposed property lines. Rather than delay the project (even more) with tear-outs and rebuilds of the jogging path it was time for one last version of the master plan. So that I did.

This is the best version yet of the master plan and addresses a few issues that had cropped up in the last weeks. Maybe now the onsite construction can start at last. Here's hoping!
