More finished areas

Our plan was to finish as much as the house as possible this summer. The backyard wedding of last week put an urgency to those plans and much was done in the weeks leading up to the important day. Now, the decorations are all put away and we finlly get a oggod look at the finished portions of the house and yard. There is still much more to do of course but it's looking pretty good.

The front door and porch area got a fair amount of attention and are now fit to welcome our guests.

The back patio area is also closer to done and now very welcoming.

We are not done yet and this week we will begin the finishing work once more.

Back in full production

Save for a few details, the shop is all back together again and organized in a whole new way. I'm slowly learning to go to where the tools and materials are now stored instead of where they used to be. The samples are now all rehung in their new place as well.

It feels good to be back in production once more.

A very large piece now dominates the workspace in the shop. It is the structure for the play ship for the Treasure Quest attraction.

Wider angle house pictures

I was talking to a good friend from Colorado today and he asked me to post pictures of the house as it appears now. Up to the wedding I had posted many pictures of sections of the yard but not one of wider angles of the complete project. As the yard came together in the days before the wedding the decorations were being put up and I never got such a picture. Today I remedied that.

There is still plenty to do, with two thirds of the front yard still to be landscaped. In the back yard there is still work to be done as well. But the yard does look very nice and it makes me smile each time I walk to and from the shop. This shot is from the center of the back yard.

This second shot of the backyard is from the top of a ladder in the driveway to better show how we laid out the back sidewalks.

From the street the house has plenty of curb appeal, even with the front yard landscaping still in progress.

We hope to continue the progress on the yard this summer and perhaps by the time the rainy weather sets in we will have the bulk of the work behind us.
