The View From Our Window
Painting one of our signs is not as simple as slopping on a layer of paint and then painting the lettering. Instead we start by hand applying a double base coat and then apply layers of glazes to make it appear more like aged wood. The lettering too is done with multiple colors and blends.
Tomorrow we'll start in on the lettering.

As per normal of late, my attention has been scattered over many projects - often all at once. But progress is being made on all fronts. The Whistle Punk sign is now ready for color. Sarah and I finished the sculpting and texturing on all sides and then Sarah put on a coat of primer. Monday the colors will begin to be put on and the sign will come to life in a hurry.
The log car is almost ready for concrete sculpting and the steam donkey framework is coming along nicely. Because of inclement weather the locomotive still sits on the trailer in the driveway. That will hopefully change this coming week, depending once more on the weatherman. Stay tuned for more progress...
