Train frame

The MultiCam was kept busy all day, carving out more wheels for the logging train for WhistlePunk Hollow Adventure Golf. While the router was busy I was out in the shop cutting steel and then welding and grinding the pieces to fashion the frame. By the end of the day I was able to mock up the frame with the wheels positioned underneath.

We have a long. long ways to go yet but I think we've made good progress already.

Dave, the Paramedic

Today I had a visit from a former employee. I love it when friends drop by and Dave had become a good friend when he worked for me. Dave started with us very young, working at Giggle Ridge Adventure Golf. He proved to be so good I 'BORROWED' him to work at Imagination Corporation. Bec claims I 'STOLE' all the good employees from her up at the golf. That is a matter we still debate from time to time.

Anyway, Dave worked with us through his high school years and beyond. He was eager to learn and a good worker. I didn't take many shots of the crew working in those days but I have one of Dave...

There came a day however when Dave became comfortable working for us. He hadn't decided what he wanted to do with his life and when complacency set in it started to affect him. He still worked hard but he wasn't happy. I could see Dave needed more. There was only one thing I could do. I let him go. Dave wasn't overly happy with me then and rightfully so but it was what he needed - a kick in the pants to look for his dream job. After a couple of other jobs he finally found the one he LOVED. He is a paramedic now, and teaches first aid on the side. I've seen few others who carry the passion and excitement for his chosen profession, even after working hard at it for years.
