Our bark is much better than our bite

With the new bar becoming operational tomorrow it was a busy place to work today with plumbers, carpenters, electricians, the beer dispenser guy and a tile setter sharing our working space. Busy would have been a good word to describe things.

I camped out on top of the bar to begin the final sculpting from the top down.

Since the bar taps will be in operation tomorrow the bar tap stand was a big priority. Like elsewhere in the pub animals hide from the dogs or fox. An owl snoozes in the hollow end of the knarly tree. At the bottom of the twisted grape vine a fox slyly hides by the bar. We'll paint the beer tap stand first thing tomorrow, making everything ready to go by eleven when the pub opens. It is going to be fun!

Growing tall

The grapevine that wraps around the Fox & Houns Pub divder is now welded, wired and coated with the first coat od sculpting epoxy. The bar taps also have the first coat of sculpt applied to for the knarly tree that will surround them. It looks pretty cool - even with only the rough coat on. Tomorrow we begin the final coat with all the detail.

Stroking items off my list.

The Fox & Hounds Pub project is in a new phase as of this week. Each day we apply finish paint to various areas, completing them at last. We still have some new construction in the old pub as soon as the carpenters get ahead of us, but in the meantime we are stroking projects off our list. The new restaurant is now ready for carpet - a week away.

The new cash machine arrives in the next day or two meaning we had to put the finishing touches to that area. We were right behind the carpenters with our paint as they put up the last of the trim boards. I finished texturing the ceiling in readiness for our painters to add color tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow I'll be concentrating on the new bar area in hopes of finishing it all off by weeks end. Stay tuned for progress reports...
