Making a mole hill out of a mountain

When we excavated for the foundations of the Hazelnut Inn the extra soil was piled high towards the middle/back of the property. The excavator operator did a great job of piling it. The sides were steeply sloped and he packed it well. Over the last three and a half years tall weeds have overcome the pile, some big enough to almost retire a chainsaw to cut them down. The grandkids love to climb on the hill but it was much too steep and tall to be safe. Mowing the weeds was impossible and they’ve enjoyed free reign for too long. The solution was to cut that mountain down to a molehill. A few times each week as I have time I’ve been whittling away at that giant mountain of dirt, taking about five feet off the top and making the sides with a safe enough slope to actually mow. In the last few days it is starting to look pretty good. Henry and Juniper are ecstatic with the progress. They love to explore the new hill, spending their time prospecting for gold. I hope they find a giant nugget soon!
