Logging truck body work

The two Matts finished applying the galvanized lath today to the pencil rod frame. Although still somewhat see-through the body panels look as they are supposed to. The last step before the sculpted concrete is the sign panel on the log. The piece is looking pretty cool.

The two Matts did a great job!

Day four on the logging truck

Today little Matt continued welding on the logging truck. In past days we were working on the structure. Today our focus switched to the physical appearance of the truck.

The body shape is formed with pencil rod, relatively easy to bend by hand and then welded to form a grid. Hundreds of feet of rod are used in it's construction. By the end of Matt's work day we had made pretty good progress.

After supper I went back out to the shop for an hour or so to build the front fenders and headlights of the truck.

Now the truck cab is ready for the attachment of the galvanized lath. Once that is done we will start in on the sculpted concrete skin. Keep watching as it comes to life.
