The beginning of the summer of the Jeep

I was out the door before five o'clock this morning to get to the airport in time to catch a plane. I was off to Comox, Vancouver Island. By ten-thirty I had the keys in hand for our brand new Jeep. The first thing I did was take off the front panels of the roof and roll the windows down. Then it was time for a pleasant drive down island, onto the ferry and back home. I didn't take the freeway but instead the fun and winding drive down the old Island highway which offered wonderful ocean views.

It won't stay stock for long. New bumpers, sliders and tube doors will be first, beginning tomorrow. The hard top will come off and soon some suitable tires wheels will replace the narrow stockers it came with. It's going to be a fun summer of adventures.

Playing in the shop on the weekend

Weekends are for playing. With the new Jeep on the way this week I've been busy in the shop building accessories. Cutting steel, welding and grinding parts for the Jeep is actually a lot like the work we do all week in the shop. It is just as much fun too. The parts don't look like much now but they will look cool on the jeep! The parts include new bumpers, tube doors and some sliders.  The brand new Jeep won't be stock for very long...   :)
