Walking through the shop these days feels a lot like being in the bottom of the grand canyon. The big pieces of the mountain fill the space and tower almost to the ceiling. The rockwork base coats are very colorful with oranges, pinks, purples and blues. All of that gets toned down with the rich, deep brown glazes. The painting crew made great progress today on all five pieces. Tomorrow the goal is to finish these pieces for on Thursday morning the crane arrives to load them for their journey up to the lake. Another mountain is ready to be assembled.
