Reviving some old ideas

The idea of the swoopy steel I-beams for the trade show booth came to be more than five years ago. I had designed and proposed a steampunk/seaside village concept for a west coast town. Sadly, the group wasn't able to fund and proceed with the project. The fully developed ideas have languished in my file ever since, waiting for the day when they might come to pass. I still believe their day will come.

The trade show booth seemed like a great place to actually construct a small part of those ideas. Our MultiCam CNC Plasma cutter provided the capability to produce the heavy steel pieces economically. Even so it is proving to be a lot of hard work to cut, form, fit and weld the thick steel together. The first  I-beam pillar is almost complete.
