Today I started up our MultiCam CNC router to cut the pieces for the mechanical fish. I had plenty to do but the machine happily works while I do other things. Once cut it was time to glue up the pieces and check out how my computer model looked in real life. I was pleased so far. I'll be using this model as a basic shape, over which I'll hand apply a thin skin of sculpting epoxy. That's when the real detail and magic happens.

I've been getting a bunch of emails asking for links to Jamie and Doug's blogs to see how the other subs are coming along. Sadly, there appears to be no progress on either submarine of theirs as of yet. I'm sure if pressed they have a good excuse. I'll post the links whenever some progress happens... :)
