No straight lines here

The crew continues work on the welded steel fence. There's an easy way and a hard way to do just about everything. This is the hard way for this task. The rails of the fence undulate up and down. This means the long pieces of square tubing are put through the hydraulic bender to un-straighten them in a hurry. Here Sarah holds the tubing while Peter operates the controls and feeds the machine.

Since the top and bottom rails of the fence are not parallel to each other every vertical rod has to be carefully measured and custom cut to length before being welded into place. We are doing just over a hundred lineal feet of fence in total.

While it is a lot of work, it also looks very cool, well worth the effort! Stay tuned for more developents...
